Accessible User Experience: Martı Success Story

Martı is a mobility platform that supports urban mobility with solutions such as vehicle sharing and courier services. Positioning the delivery of its service network to all users without any discrimination and offering an inclusive digital experience by elevating its technological infrastructure to global standards as a strategic priority, Martı aimed to initiate the accessibility transformation of its mobile applications in line with this vision.
Project Purpose and Focus
The following strategic goals were set within the scope of the project:
- Enabling users with visual, auditory, or motor impairments to use the Martı application independently.
- Making the platforms fully compliant with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards and Turkey's Web Sites and Mobile Applications Accessibility Directive.
- Making accessible application design a part of the corporate culture.
Working Process with Binclusive
As Binclusive, we actively participated as a solution partner in Martı's achievement of its accessibility goals and managed the process through four main channels:
A. Technical & Disabled User Testing
We tested Martı's iOS and Android applications with Binclusive technology and users from different disability groups according to WCAG 2.2 standards. The tests focused particularly on the most critical user experiences such as registration, ride initiation, and payment.
B. Technical Issue Reporting and Code-Level Solutions
We reported all identified accessibility issues with screenshots, technical explanations, and direct code-level implementation recommendations. During this process, a total of 390 accessibility issues were successfully resolved on iOS and Android platforms.
C. Technical Mentoring and Workshop Support
Throughout the process, we provided one-on-one mentoring and technical consulting support to Martı's software teams.
D. Compliance Documentation (VPAT)
We prepared VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) and Executive Summary documents documenting Martı's success at global standards, ensuring transparent reporting of the process.
Results
As a result of this comprehensive accessibility transformation, Martı:
- Made all its digital platforms fully compliant with global and local accessibility regulations.
- Completely resolved 243 technical issues on the iOS platform and 147 on the Android platform, perfecting the user experience.
- As Turkey's leading mobility brand, set a standard that leads the industry in the field of inclusivity.
